Just When I Thought I was Out…

It’s been a while. I’ve been writing because of course I have, but blogging? I haven’t posted a blog in years. But wise and fabulous Alicia decided to get the band back together and just like that, she pulled me back in.

What? You don’t quote The Godfather movies?

I’m feeling more than a little out of my element and I’m not going to share how much time it took me just to get this site up and functional. Suffice it to say I deeply regret deleting the sites where I’d previously blogged. Breathing life back into a dormant blog would have certainly been easier than starting fresh. I’m all but certain there’ll be some bugs to work out (once I hit “publish” most will become painfully apparent), but I’ll relearn as I go. And it’ll be worth it. I’m excited to reconnect with some people I’ve lost touch with and to meet some new ones. Ready. Set. Blog!

So, what are your favorite movie lines? You know, the ones you somehow manage to work into conversations way too often. At my house, I think we could talk endlessly using only movie quotes.

  1. We do speak in movie lines here. 🍿

You are way ahead of me as I haven’t even tried to find my old blogs. I have been writing but I haven’t shared anything for so long that I’m not sure where to start. i

    I’ll think about it tomorrow.

    1. I like what you did there. 🙂

My old blogs are gone, gone, gone. Posts and all. I wished I’d at least saved my favorites. Oh well. You can speed it up. You can slow it down. You can even freeze a moment, but you can’t rewind time. You can’t undo what is done.

  2. Hi there – Yeah, my old blogs are gone af years ago. Good riddance. I’m not a person to save stuff and I have no attachment to anything I ever wrote. It was whatever. My old blogs would probably be kinda cringe to me, like reading old Facebook posts from 2009. Lol

What I am looking forward to is this new incarnation of our group blogging experience. Several years have passed, and I think this is going to be great. 🙂

  3. ” I’m not going to share how much time it took me just to get this site up and functional” Right? I spent hours (okay maybe DAYS) making my old Myspace site EXACTLY the way I wanted it. Then they changed to 3.0 and all my carefully planned coding quit and it went back to the original look. Then they had the audacity to close my blog! EGAD! I got lucky and noticed they had a thing that allowed me to download all my old blogs. Unfortunately it didn’t save all the comments- which were as good or better than my blog! When I started my Blogger site, I just took whatever they had for a layout. Maybe someday I will take the time to figure out how to get the look I want. As for movie lines? I’m always using “You’re gonna need a bigger boat” or “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”

    1. I wish I’d downloaded my old blogs. I didn’t for the MySpace ones, nor did I for either of the other sites where I’ve previously hosted a blog. Foolish.

My husband uses the bigger boat line frequently, too. And I have to say I LOVE the scene in Jaws where the guys are comparing scars and singing. I’ve seen it far too many times and still enjoy it every single time. 🙂

  4. Alicia always finds a way to reel us all back into her shenaniganry (let’s pretend that is a real word…).

My twin sister and I have been communicating for the last two days almost exclusively in quotes from Talledega Nights. 😀

  5. Our family’s favorite, “Stay alert. Stay alive. It’s as simple as that.” 😁
So glad the bands back together. I’ve missed us❤️
